If you enjoy the music, please support the artists.
I post mp3's for however long I deem appropriate, which is certainly not forever.
If, for some reason, you'd like one taken down, please contact me (Dorian.Scheidt@gmail.com).
I'll follow your wishes (as long as you represent the copyright holder), but I won't understand your perspective.
For The Record:
Artists themselves earn far more from ticket sales and merchandise than they do from album sales!
The free sharing of music on the internet fosters creativity by expanding the influence base for artists, and by creating an effective distribution method available easily to anyone who is interested. It also allows people to listen to far more music than they ever would have before, opening their eyes and ears to possibilities that would have remained unexplored were it not for file sharing.
Personally, I have been to far more concerts, bought far more merchandise, and spent far more money which directly profited the artists since I stopped having to purchase a CD in order to listen to it.
To those who would ask to have MP3's taken down:
How can someone listening to, and writing/reading about your music be anything less than a massive compliment?
If you think the loss of revenue in CD sales isn't worth the increased exposure and enjoyment of your music, then you might be in this business for the wrong reasons.
Plus, everything I post was available for free online long before I started doing this.
Hey Sir,
Nice blog.
